Hoag Hospital, Irvine | LDRP & Relocation of Main Entry

This Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) that describes a maternity unit was designed for family-centered care. Women in labor and their families complete normal childbearing experiences in one home-like room. With 21,550 total sq ft, 19,050 sq ft of new LDRP Unit, 2,500 sq ft of new Main Hospital Entry and Waiting Area, with 8,900 total sq ft ground up and 12,650 sq ft of remodeled areas. The project added 12-LDRP Birthing Suites with an anesthesia room, two C-Section Operating rooms, one LDRP Birthing Suite with AIIR capabilities, 3-Bay PACU, Infant Resuscitation Room, a multi-purpose room, ADA upgrades and associated support spaces. The maternity suites have a home-like feel where women with low-risk pregnancies will feel at home during childbirth. The 3-bay Nursery built to perform Infant Resuscitation, includes a 10,000 sq ft secure healing garden and a larger landscape ADA upgrade.
